It'd be quite cool to visit Kryta and find that the location of the Ascalon Settlement is now a thriving city.

That doesnt really have any bearing on this whatsoever
Just a paranoid spirit that has turned insane in torment. The name gives it away.

Yep, just a paranoid spirit that has touched by Abaddon knowledge...

Also the gap between the first known action of the Gods and the Giants Era:- 1769 BE Serpents arrive in Tyria.

I'm thinking that the Heroes of Ascalon will have their own monuments in the HoM (Since they're essentially adventuring along side you in GW1).

Although im 100% sure that wont happen in Tyria, im just pointing out in 250 years ALOT can change civilization wise and even climatically

Maybe the 'true giants' were Titans, like in the greek myths. Titans were sort of the ancestors of the gods that are known nowadays.
First being in the universe was Choas (Khaos), he had several children, Gaia, Tartarus, Nyx, Erebus and Eros. Gaia bore Uranus, whom became the leader/king of the gods. He married Gaia (his mother) and got several children again. But he hated his children and hid them from the world. Gaia roused Kronos, one of Uranus Children to overthrow Uranus. He succeeded, becoming the new ruler of the gods, together with his sister Rhea (name from GW), whom he married. Afraid of being overthrown by his own children, he ate them alive when they were born. Only Zeus was saved from this fate, because his mother hid him. Zeus eventually grew up strong enough to force his father to throw up his brothers and sisters that were still in Kronos' stomach. Together with his brothers and sisters, he overthrew the Titans. Zeus married his sister Hera and became the leader of the gods.
Things sound familiar? Sibling gods, overthrowing former gods, gigantic predecessors

Maybe the gods and kormir will tranform into guildwars versions of the titans and most of the Heroes of Ascalon with turn into gods or with the new race find out that tyria has more gods than help the old gods like minor gods.

I just watch Steamboy on dvd, so I'll go with what Sophitia said. A bit like Acanum, where the steam tech and magic have an uneasy co-existence.

No..just a paranoid spirit that has been subjected to torment...like i said. He was not called Mad Spirit for nothing.
Abaddon had a reason for Nightfall. He had been beaten and chained down for hundreds of years and had become insane. He wanted to throw the world into Nightfall due to the Gods chaining him down after his defeat. And furthermore it took him well over 250 years to actually put his Nightfall plan to action. Now please explain to me why the Goddess Of Truth would want to destroy the world?

Yes an example of change in GW is Cantha. One disastor and Cantha began to change over a period of 200 years. Its landscape was completely changed, peoples way of life changed ect. This to me is goign to be the interesting part of GW2. Seeing how the story changed after the final mission of the Heros throughtout those 250 years.

Right, but the Realm of the Torment it’s strongly influenced by the power of Abaddon God of knowledge.
"Everyone here has been tainted by Abaddon in some way. How does one become tainted, you ask? It seems even the briefest contact with one of his servants is enough to pass on the taint of Abaddon." - Bureht Liuniz

Don’t interpret this sentence literally...
See:
- The death of Abaddon awakes the Great Destroyer.
"Something moved beneath the sands of the Crystal Desert. Hungry spirits, seeking flesh." - Dynastic Spirit
- The Goddess Of Truth pronounces the true name of the Great Destroyer accidentally.
If the true name of either is spoken aloud, it would mean the end of the world as we know it. - High Priest Alkar

To clear something up when you said this:

I assumed you were saying that Kormir,Godess of Truth would turn around and try another Nightfall type event. But i'm now unsure as to wether you are talking about the Goddess Of Truth or your saying Abaddons defeat woke the Great Destoryer who in turn will try to destroy the world?

Strange/random theroy:
The Gods of old chained "the great destroyer" down or did the whole titan thing on him Abbadon was a big part of this OR whom ever was before Abbadon for whatever reason Kormir does not use any of her power to keep the chains on the great destroyer, assuming he is so powerful the chains need to maintained.
This lets the great destroyer break free, as the rest as the say is the future

I think the statement refers to the Great Destroyer. It is more probable that than another Mad God.
In any case, the most important part of this sentence is that it suggest to us that exists somekind of god cycle and that the present gods not always have existed (the Great Destroyer involved).
Perhaps the Great Destroyer it's somekind of primeval god that existed before this universe was born. Somekind of Beast of the end of days.

Guys there are 6 heroes in total we just haven't met the 6th one after the searing
If we look at the first heroes we've met so far.
Devona the Warrior,
Cynn the Elementalist,
Aidan the Ranger
Mhenlo the Monk,
Eve the Necromancer.
We notice that someone's missing. Who's the mesmer?
Wait isn't there a character we've met and these forums have been looking for since the beginning of Guild Wars?
I think I know who it is and her name starts with a G.
and what about the other 4 professions don't they get heroes too?
I believe that these heroes will have desedents that will decide the fate of tryia in GW2!

I dont know if there is a 6th hero, but if so i also think its Gwen. i was just reading wiki and i saw a interesting quote:
"When I grow up, I'm going to be a hero like my daddy. I'd like to be a warrior, but the mesmers' outfits are nicer, don't you think?"
i also did not know Gwens mother "Sarah"was in the underworld never noticed her in the hundreds of uw runs i have done.
And about the 4 other heroes, since it are heroes of ascalon i will stick with 5/6
